Zillions:
EurasiaChess Shogi and mini-ShogiThis zip file contains ZRFs (you'll need first to buy Zillions of Games) for Shogi, and mini-Shogi. They share same set of pieces graphics (EurasiaChess wood, round & color, mixing both Japanese Kanji representation, and improved European Chess symbol set), thus enabling a fast learning (of moves and Japanese Kanji) and easy discover of Shogi. Moreover, mini-Shogi is advised for quick learning of Gold&Silver token moves. You'll find a more detailed description on ChessVariants. PS: In its Demo version, Zillions of Games is offering mini-Shogi only. In case you don't like default graphics, you can use these instead (to be unzipped in images/Shogi directory). |

Zillions:
Chaturaji-Chaturanga modern-variantChaturanga for four players (also called Chaturaji) probably originated in India about 1000 years ago, and is believed to be a development of 2-handed Chaturanga (with dices), itself assumed to be the oldest known form of chess. Download this zip file containing ZRFs (you'll need first to buy Zillions of Games) for the modern-variant of Chaturaji. This version without dices is an implementation of the modern variant (played in India untill 19th century). This game is very strategic, and you'll enjoy playing at 2, 3 (2 vs 1+1) or 4 players. You'll find a more detailed description on ChessVariants. |
